Over the past few weeks, we’ve taken a look at wedding venues in a number of Home Counties. This time, we’ll venture a little bit further west – to Oxfordshire. This part of the world strikes a fantastic balance between accessibility and countryside charm. It’s green and pleasant, but also easily accessible via road and rail. We’re among the best photo-booth hire services in the area, and so we’ve got plenty of experience of what the county has to offer.

As with our previous roundups, we’re going to take a look at six of the best examples. Let’s get started!

Old Luxters Barn

The county, as we’ll see, is home to several charming little barn conversions. This is one of them. It’s been hosting weddings, parties and other events since 1990 – but it was built hundreds of years prior, in the 18^th century. You’ll get room for up to 100 guests seated, and, thanks to the barn’s location in the Hambleden Valley, plenty of natural beauty for everyone to enjoy.

The Tythe Barn, Launton

Another barn conversion, here, but of an entirely different vintage. The 14^th century building provides plenty of rustic charm, and the adjoining cowshed can seat more than two-hundred guests for a sit-down meal. Now, words like ‘rustic’ and ‘cowshed’ probably aren’t the words that excite wedding planners – but rest assured the setting offers plenty of glamour and modern convenience!

Caswell House

This Cotswold venue, a picturesque 15^th-century manor house, boasts a trio of renovated barns. Each provides flagstone floors, oak beams and stone walls, making them a fantastic place to tie the knot. The house is set within three-hundred acres of rolling Oxfordshire countryside, so you can be assured of total privacy throughout your stay.

The Great Barn

This barn conversion dates from the 18^th century; it’s set within 250 acres of lush countryside, including a trio of lakes and gorgeous woodland. Despite its name, two buildings comprise this venue, both dating from 1770. You’ll get 140 seated for a formal wedding breakfast.

Ardington House

Oxfordshire has more to offer the newly-engaged than just barn conversions. Ardington House is a Georgian Grade-II listed mansion built in 1721. Included is an eye-popping marquee, from where you and your guests will be able to enjoy a spectacular view of the house, and the nearby river. You’ll get chandeliers, cake tables and (importantly) heating. It’s an exclusive-use venue, meaning that you and your guests will have the run of the entire place throughout the day. Note that marquee weddings aren’t possible during winter, but if you can cut the guest list down to around thirty, you can get everyone in.

Lains Barn

We’ll conclude with yet another barn conversion, set in the rural heart of the county. Again, you can expect plenty of wooden beams and a large courtyard whose lawns provide plenty of space for champagne receptions. This venue can accommodate up to 180 guests. It’s open throughout the year, and it makes a fantastic setting for winter weddings!
